My Thoughts

Theo Colton has made a life following the rodeo circuit, never staying in one place longer than it takes to compete, living from moment to moment without tying himself down in a serious relationship until the day that his world falls apart during a bronc riding mishap that caused him serious damage to his spine and put him in rehab for months.

No longer able to even ride a tame horse on his family ranch in Wyoming Theo believes that life without rodeo is no life he wishes to be a part of, that becomes a secondary worry the day a woman that he had spent a few nights with in the past shows up with a baby in tow that she claims he fathered. When the babies mother dies in the local clinic in town shortly after she collapses in his doorway Theo finds himself with not only a newborn daughter but having to fight the budding attraction to the woman that he has hired as a cook and now as nanny.

There are no real surprises in store as far as the romance between Ellie and Theo,it plays out about the way I expected and for the life of me not really sure why the two hooked up other than the fact that they are living in the same household.

Although I get it that Ellie and Theo have a great chemistry together, get that they both cherish baby Amelia and even understand how they could find themselves thinking they have fallen in love but for some reason it just never really works for me.

As a romantic suspense, for me, this was kind of lukewarm thrills wise and the identity of the villain stalking Ellie when revealed made perfect sense but still felt kind of off for me when all was said and done.
