Love is a werewolf, influenced by the moon and terror, and always about to change.
Liv has a secret.
Something happened to her when she was thirteen. Something that changed everything. Liv knows she doesn’t belong anymore—not in her own skin, not in her family . . . not anywhere. The only time she truly feels like herself is when she’s with her boyfriend, Corey, and in the woods that surround her town.
But in the woods, a mysterious woman watches Liv. In the woods, a pack of wild boys lurks. In the woods, Liv learns about the curse that will haunt her forever. The curse that caused the frenzy four years ago. And that may cause it again, all too soon.
While Corey and Liv’s love binds them together, Liv’s dark secret threatens to tear them apart as she struggles to understand who—or what—she really is. And by the light of the full moon, the most dangerous secrets bare their claws. . .
Liv is an only child, she is the daughter of a small town sheriff and when she hit puberty at 13 her whole life changed.
4 years later at 17 Liv is under the care of a psychiatrist who keeps her on a more even keel with medications that calm her emotions and allow her to control the rage that sets her inner beast free.
In the 4 years since Liv woke up in the woods naked and unable to recall what happened there have been townsman found murdered in those same woods that she finds so necessary for her peace of mind.
Liv struggles to understand what has happened, the answers that she finds leave her in turns confused and fearful for the safety of her family as well as Corey.
The story is unusual to say the least, not one for every lover of the werewolf genre as the normal lore does not apply.
While this was a fast read it had a few points that will cause discomfort and a few that will cause stomach churning disbelief.
