A surprise inheritance reunites a mixed martial arts fighter with the woman he's never forgotten in the first in a smoldering new series from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…
Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He's also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she's older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.
Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he'll break all the rules to do it…
Finally the story we have all been eager to read, Cannon Colter who lives up to his MMA nickname of "Saint"
, is as devastatingly compelling as ever!
Yvette Sweeney was too young when she left Ohio to move to California for Cannon to do more than wistfully notice her feminine wiles however now that she is older all bets are off and now Cannon is out to win what he wanted from the first time he kissed her and nothing and no one, including Yvette, is going to discourage him.
This book hit all the high notes that I expected, it bared Cannon and Yvette to the bone in a way that was a testimony to how strong both their characters are, introduced us more fully to some of the secondary characters we met in the novella [b:Hard Knocks|21527344|Hard Knocks (Ultimate, #0.5)|Lori Foster|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1395450381s/21527344.jpg|40853893] and the romance between Cannon and Yvette totally worked with it's ups and downs making their relationship all that more realistic.
Although fighting of any kind is not my sport these men and women of the MMA are portrayed in a way that shows their willingness to stand up for their friends and also shows that they are just as fierce out of the ring as they are in it.
Looking forward to what comes next for all the characters!
