Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories

This is a tough subject both for an author to write about and a reader to tackle without getting too upset on behalf of the character who is the abuse victim. There were quite a few moments that rang true but for me the fact that it took 11 years to resolve was just too much glossing over by Oakley's parents for way too long. Betrayed by the very one who should have protected her with every possible effort the fact that her father was part of what caused his own daughter years of pain was hard to read about as it goes against everything this "daddy's girl" holds dear!
