BOOK SYNOPSIS

Would you die for the one you love?
Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . .

My Thoughts

After book 1 Elite (Eagle Elite, #1) Elect (Eagle Elite #2 totally changed the way Nixon was viewed. Gone was most of the arrogance that epitomized him when interacting with Tracey and in it’s place was an overwhelming desire on his part to keep her safe and happy, even if that meant sacrificing any chance of his being the one that brought her happiness. At any age selfless love is romantic and totally what we all yearn for and very rarely ever find, in this case the make believe character of 21 year old Nixon Abandonato embodies someone whose love is pure and as selfless as it can possibly get!

Like the first book this second one is full of so much great interaction between Nixon and his friends that you feel quite engaged throughout every scene, the revealing of past secrets is dealt with as the drama of the story unfolds as well so you are riveted by the sordid details and the heartbreaking decisions made by both Chase and Nixon in regards to Trace will have you torn up through most of the book.

Uncovering just exactly what is going on that causes Nixon to purposely push Trace into choosing Chase will leave readers totally confused as to whom she really belongs with, however by the end for me it was a no brainer as to my pick and for once am totally glad the author made the same choice.

There was only a few instances where did not like what was going on, most of those revolved around Nixon’s former friend Phoenix but after the story was over and his part was played out it all made perfect sense. The drama and tension and complete meltdowns caused by Nixon’s actions at times also gave me a few bad moments as did some of the things Chase thought/said and did but as before it all resolved to my satisfaction.

I was so happy to get a chance to read this second book in the series after having been slightly torn with how much the first one impacted me so dramatically it was nice to come back to the world and characters and this time leave without feeling conflicted over how things worked out, as a matter of fact the great cliffhanger ending did not even make me disgruntled it instead just whetted my appetite for the next book!
