BOOK SYNOPSIS

Nadia Conrad has big dreams, and she's determined to make them come true—for her parents' sake as well as her own. But between maintaining her college scholarship and working at the local day care to support herself, she barely has time to think, let alone date. Then she moves into a new apartment and meets the taciturn yet irresistible guy in 1B….

Daniel Tyler has grown up too fast. Becoming a single dad at twenty turned his life upside down—and brought him heartache he can't risk again. Now, as he raises his four-year-old son while balancing a full-time construction management job and night classes, a social life is out of the question. The last thing he wants is for four noisy students to move into the apartment upstairs. But one night, Nadia's and Ty's paths cross, and soon they can't stay away from each other.

The timing is all wrong—but love happens when it happens. And you can't know what you truly need until you stand to lose it.

My Thoughts

What can I say, am a sucker for anything written by Ann Aguirre no matter whether it is SciFi-YA-NA-Romantic Suspense-Contemporary Romance or something somewhere in between as everything that I have read by her so far manages to touch my heart deeply.

This first book in the 2B Trilogy is certainly no exception.

From the truly adorable 4 year old Sam, Daniel Tyler’s son, to Nadia-her roommates Max/Lauren/Angus and most especially downstairs neighbor Ty himself these characters very easily became real to me as read about their lives and how Nadia and Ty’s relationship started.

As the chapters passed by every little tidbit added to the story, one of my favorite moments is when Nadia is confronted with the reality of a 4-year-olds mercurial temperament when she is called upon to babysit Sam while Ty resolves an issue at his work. I would have personally had to have been put in a straight jacket, Nadia’s ability to deal with the minor crisis and greet Ty with a smile at the end of a long night won my heart to her side for sure!

To say that this story has its ups and downs would be a fair assessment, however what made it worth sticking with was the fact that everything came across as experiences that real people deal with in their lives all the time with the characters never coming across as total flakes when they messed up.

One of the many things that I totally loved in this story was the way in which Nadia and Ty finally dealt with the issues that were obstacles to their relationship becoming more than just the occasional friends with benefits. It may have taken a serious wake-up call on both their parts to get to the point where talking about being a family with Sam for the long haul but in the end it was well worth what these two lovers went through.

Really but looking forward with breathless anticipation to book 2 [b:As Long As You Love Me|20945758|As Long As You Love Me (2B Trilogy #2)|Ann Aguirre|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1402938087s/20945758.jpg|40317179] which thanks to publisher and Netgalley have waiting on my Kindle and will read closer to end of September release.
