I have read many reviews of this book prior to myself reading it this last week, I half agree with some of them and do not agree at all with the rest. The best book for me in the 7 book series written to date is still the first one "Outlander". I was rather saddened to have to finish Echo In The Bone today because now have to wait for years to immerse myself once again in a wonderful adventure with beautifully drawn characters who would be proud friends to have if they existed in the real world today. I found the series like everyone else in the early 90's and have faithfully and patiently waited for each installment to come out and have thus far never begrudged the wait until now, the book ended with way too many unfinished story lines again. I found myself all throughout the book at once laughing and crying and praying for the Claire, Jamie, Brienna, Roger, Jem, Amanda, WIlliam, Lord John, Ian, Rollo, Denny, Rachel, Ian and Jenny and all the others that were brought so brilliantly to life within a little over 800 pages of script lovingly prepared for us to enjoy over and over . I am saddened to think that the conclusion of the series is at hand and at the same time ready to have all the stories resolved and put to rest......I hope that anyone else who reads all the books understands that they are not meant to be dissected and worried to the bone, they are for entertainment not enlightenment after all and they do a wonderful job in my opinion. I will continue to enjoy Diana Gabaldon and her work hopefully for many more years....
