Book SynopsisThey are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.My ThoughtsThe first book in the new series written by the author is not going to disappoint fans of her "Demonica" series, as a matter of fact it will delight them as the characters from that series take front and center roles in this story lend familiarity and comfort to those of us like myself who were sad to see the last of "Underworld General" and it's inhabitants. The horsemen are well fleshed out, my favorite is going to be a hard pick but so far am leaning towards Thanatos as he is complicated as well as charismatic and compelling as a character. There is nothing so far that this author has not written that I did not enjoy reading, this book about "War" and Cara is no exception.
