Signed Copy Won From Author on Denise Agnew's Chill Me Thrill Me Contest in early October I chose Midnight Sins the 2nd book in the series because am very fond of reading stories that feature a succubus as the main female character.. I did well, Cara Maloan is a strong, sexy addition to my list of favorite heroines in the books I have read in the last few years... Not only is this book interesting because of the Paranormal Romance which takes place between Cara and Detective Todd Brooks, it is is full of other twists and turns that take the reader on a supernatural roller coaster ride.. The author has mixed several genres in this story and it includes lots of interesting information on the supernatural communities that it is skillfully woven into the plot and adds wonderful dimension to what would otherwise be more or less the same old same old plot line... The fact that along with the paranormal romance there is a murder mystery to be solved really keeps the story moving and the action well paced to keep the reader involved from beginning to end. I really loved the give and take between Cara and Todd as they worked out their differences. I thought the 2ndry characters of his partner Colin, the forensics expert Dr. Smith from the morgue, the psychologist Emily Drake who treats the "Others" and the commanding officer Danny O'Neal were all very well fleshed out and became quite real to me the more I read.. Despite the fact that I figured out the villian to the piece fairly early it was a magical journey that I sat down and devoured in a little over a day once I got to concentrate on nothing but reading the book!I really had such a fantastic time reading this new world and look forward to getting my hands on a copy of book #1 Hotter After Midnight and book #3 Midnight's Master!
