Maybe she’ll even live long to collect her fee…My ThoughtsWhen word came out on Twitter and all the blog updates that author (Shiloh Walker) had posted since the beginning of 2012 my interest was peaked and waiting to get a chance to read the first book in her new Urban Fantasy series was pretty intense. Thank goodness for Netgalley and authors who post their work for review on there! Not only did "Blade Song" live up to my expectations but it taught me that just because an author is well known they still have a few tricks up their sleeves. J.C. Daniels "voice" is still that of Shiloh Walker but just different enough to make this series unique in it's own right as compared to the others in the genre that are already out there to read.Of all the jobs that Kit has ever taken on for some reason her search for one missing shifter has put her world into a tailspin. She is threatened on all sides and has no one to turn to and no one to trust.There has never been a time when Kit Colbana is allowed to let her guard down. The sexy vampire Jude is a threat not only to her sanity as he has the ability to invade her dreams, but also he is a threat to her life as she can barely resist his seductive maneuvers to allow him to drink her blood until he has bled her dry!Damon is another male who presents Kit with a whole list of problems, not least of which is the knowledge that he is to kill her if she fails to fulfill her obligation to locate and bring home Doyle.Fast paced narrative and action, swoon worthy male characters who vie for Kit's attention and Kit herself who will alternately make you laugh/swear/groan out loud in disbelief at her cheek/ but who will most of all keep you on the edge of your seat as she maneuvers her way through obstacles to her goal that would leave a weaker person in tears. There is some hair raising action, a hint of romance and a lot of great dialogue that at times will make you laugh out loud at just how inappropriate it is in the context of what is going on at the time, this book will keep you reading long after you should go to bed!As excited as I am to share how good this new series promises to be I agonized over how to proceed with this one, it is so easy to spoil the book for others and so just a few impressions are all am leaving you with.
