Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories

I thought after reading the 4 previous Historicals about the Campbell, MacGregors, Stuarts and Grants I was prepared for this story. I was mistaken in the assumption that Robert and Davina's story could not be better than the previous reads. Wrong!!! Book 1 in the Children Of The Mist series captures the reader from the first page. From beginning, middle to the end Paula Quinn never lets you go. We have been brought to this point with the stories proceeding Ravished so that by the time we open the book the characters are firmly established, and, they feel like familiar family members who we are visiting with!!I am still intrigued by the History and the Politics that make up the background of the plot. Learning more about the wonderful MacGregors, Grants and Stuart families created for us by the author has been a wonderful reading journey. The settings are spectacular and make me yearn to see the Isle of Skye in particular for a glimpse of the fortress that houses our hero and heroine. The beautifully woven interactions between all of the characters, both primary and 2ndry, bring them to life for the reader in a way that is both believable and poignant. The story makes us feel like we are truly experiencing what happens as it unfolds on the written page. I am truly in love with this type of Action/Adventure/Historical Romance, have been for years and just in the last 6 months have made an effort to really seek out books of this nature again to read. Paula Quinn has become, like Diana Gabaldon before her, my go to author for an epic tale of intrigue, romance and adventure that flows in a continuous story line from book to book. In each installment true love prevails, with all the drama and passion you could ask for before the final HEA!!! I look forward to this fall reading book 2 in the series when Seduced by A Highlander continues this new series!!!
