Mind Games made me fall in love with this new series, Double Cross cemented my affection forever! As with the first book there is not much I can say that has not already been said, except I liked this second book even more than the first now that all the world building is behind me the characters and the plot line were of course easier to follow. The adventure with Justine Jones and the rest of the Disillusionists gang picks up right where Mind Games leaves off, takes off like a rocket and is once again a very wild thrill ride! The more one reads about the triangle that poor Justine is caught in with Packard and Otto it becomes that much harder to root for either one as they are both a great match for her each in their own way! This time around the action is even faster paced, the thrills and twists that the story takes the reader through are even wilder than the last book and more importantly the characters are truly amazing to read as we are drawn ever deeper into their wacky world as they try to serve "justice" to those who deserve it! The very name of the book is again well deserved, the "Double Cross" at the end will leave you both in shock and probably very angry as it did me. I am now biting my nails to see how in book 3 this disturbing ending is handled and what happens to Justine and the rest of the Disillusionists!
