Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories

Lifelong Texan, love reading from many genres thanks to early childhood readalongs with my Dad, love cooking for my family, working in my yard, playing with my cats and since being diagnosed in late 2012 with RRMS finding ways to keep body and mind active is even more important.

Happy Hour of the Damned

Happy Hour of the Damned - Mark Henry There has been a lot of "hype" to "save Amanda Feral" so Mark Henry can continue the series, I hope it happens but am not going to count on it. I am not a new convert to the series, it is a really good piece of writing by what is an obviously intelligent and well rounded individual. His timing is wonderful on starting and stopping with the snarkiness he is so renowned for by his peers and his friends. Truly the POV of the story as told through Amanda's voice is done well, I just cannot say in all truthfulness that will be rushing out for books 2&3. I will read the entire series at some point simply because my curiosity of wanting to know what happens to Amanda and her merry band of supernaturals is going to outcome my lack of enthusiasm for the characters themselves. A contradiction I know but my curiosity is morbid and must be satisfied!!! I gave the book a low rating because while I did read it expecting more because of all the people promoting this series my feeling is that it just does not quite reach those expectations.....
