Having been a rabid fan of The Otherworld Series which started in 2006 with WITCHLING and is still going strong today with the latest release BLOOD WYNE coming out in February this year, I looked forward with great anticipation when the author announced she was starting a new series about Magic and the Fae...I was not disappointed as this start to the Indigo Court series is darker, grittier and in my opinion the perfect Yasmine Galenorn vehicle! If you visit her bio page you will understand what I mean.Cicely Waters character is a 26 year old self-taught witch who has not been to her home town of New Forest Washington in many years. Living a no-mad existence with her junkie mother has taught her street smarts and a strong sense of self preservation. Cicely has an entire body map of tattoos, each one serves a purpose which is explained nicely as the story unfolds! When the head elder of the secret Thirteen Moons Society and the town witch is found dead Cicely's family wants her to come home immediately. For twofold reasons, one is that the dead witch Marta had bequeathed her practice to Cicely and two the town is being besieged and magic-born are disappearing!I enjoyed this new world of magic and mayhem created by the author. Liked the main characters Cicely, Rhiannon, Grieve, Chatter and the villainous Indigo Court's leader Myst..The erotic nature of the book is more subdued than the previous series by Galenorn but never you fear it is just as hot as anything she has written before if not hotter! (IE the scenes with Cicely and the vampire Lannan Altos and Cicely and her childhood sweetheart and lover Grieve)The setting has some very nice scenery, love the description of the woods and it's gloriously creepy vibe!This UF is an action based story which has wonderful pacing that never bogs down.. The cliffhanger at the end is one that will make you glad the next book releases June of this year because if you read it way ahead you will be quite upset at the wait to see what happens next!For those who have read the book and did not love it as much as I did it is too bad!For anyone who already has fallen in love with the books of Yasmine Galenorn this one should be one of your new favorites! For those who have never read her before it should convert you into a new fan of her work!
